Plot Synopsis

In each half-hour episode of OUTSIDER, film fanatics Zack Carslon and Evan Husney explore the life of one fringe filmmaker and the strange movies they made. In the series opener, the duo investigate the rise and fall of MIAMI CONNECTION, an '80s action film misfire that nearly left Orlando's martial arts demigod penniless. Then, in the second episode, they track down aspiring filmmaker Laz Rojas, who tried to capture Hollywood's attention by playing over 100 characters in a four-hour one-man showcase. Next, they catch up with director James Nguyen, whose low-budget romantic thriller BIRDEMIC: SHOCK AND TERROR has been touted as "the worst movie ever made." OUTSIDER first premieed as a web series on May 3, 2016, ten months before making its television debut on Viceland on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 9:30pm ET/PT.
