Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Eddie Jackson, OUTCHEF'D is a half-hour series that features confident home cooks, who think they are arriving for an audition -- but get the surprise of their lives when they find out they are actually heading into a head-to-head competition against a world-class chef. These home cooks excel in their own kitchen -- but do they have what it takes to succeed against an elite pro under the lights and cameras of a culinary battle? After a star-ingredient themed cooking round, the fun continues as Eddie hits the streets to find a panel of six regular folks to blindly taste the dishes. To even the playing field, the home chef has to receive only one vote to win a $5,000 prize. Star chefs competing against the home cooks are Eric Adjepong, Anne Burrell, Maneet Chauhan, Scott Conant, Tiffani Faison, Amanda Freitag, Alex Guarnaschelli, Antonia Lofaso, Marc Murphy and Geoffrey Zakarian. OUTCHEF'D premieres on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT, with back-to-back episodes on Food Network.

The 12-episode second season of OUTCHEF'D debuted on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 9:30pm ET/PT on Food Network. In each episode hosted by Eddie Jackson, a confident home cook arrives thinking they are entering an audition - but to their surprise, it's "lights, cameras, action" as they are immediately ushered into a head-to-head culinary battle against a renowned world-class chef. After an ingredient-themed cooking round, Eddie hits the streets to find four regular folks for a blind tasting panel that will determine the winner. To level the playing field between the competitors and pros, the home chef only needs to receive one vote to win a $5,000 prize. Elite chefs competing against home cooks this season are: Eric Adjepong, Kelsey Bernard Clark, Rocco DiSpirito, Tiffani Faison, Darnell Ferguson, Alex Guarnaschelli, Robert Irvine, Antonia Lofaso, Joe Sasto and Geoffrey Zakarian. In the season opener, "Shell Shock," home cook and entrepreneur Trent is stunned when Eddie Jackson gives them the chance to face off against celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito. Trent will have to wow the judges to get that coveted one vote and keep Rocco from taking the win.

On Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 9:30pm ET/PT, Food Network premiered "Tomato, Tomato!," the Season 2 finale of OUTCHEF'D. Stay-at-home mom Cristina can't believe she's taking on world-class chef Geoffrey Zakarian in a surprise cooking competition. Host Eddie Jackson has more up his sleeve when he presents them with a star ingredient, and Cristina will have to outchef a pro to take home $5,000.
