Plot Synopsis

Using first-person interviews, re-creations and archival footage, THE OBJECT OF MURDER is a one-hour docuseries that examines homicides and reveals the unique object with emotional power that is associated with the crime. Each 60-minute episode highlights an individual crime and is illuminated by someone whose life was forever changed by the event and who feels a deep emotional connection to the item linked to their loved one. In the series opener, "Beauty for Ashes," 33-year-old Tricia Todd was reported missing in 2016 after failing to pick up her daughter from a babysitter. As her family hoped and prayed, investigators found her online journal that revealed the truth of what had happened.
