Plot Synopsis

NY ER is a reality series that features never-before-seen stories combined with the best ER scenes from the ABC series NY MED. Dr. Mehmet Oz introduces rare scenes within some of the very walls he trained, exploring this high pressure profession at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Brooklyn's Lutheran Medical Center. Each 30-minute episode features two or three stories, including: a trauma surgeon pulling out all the stops in an effort to save a stabbing victim; a patient the ER staff have known for years is brought in by paramedics in cardiac arrest; a young father is found down and goes into a seizure while in the ER; a NY tabloid editor comes in with a head injury; a self-dubbed "love doctor" treats a young couple; a man catches a rare, contagious disease after his bachelor's party in Vegas; a doctor tries to save a dangerously ill woman who may be pregnant; one patient decides he can't wait in the ER anymore and pulls out his own IV; a resident fights to save a young woman injured in a car accident; a resident treats a psychotic patient who refuses to believe he's a doctor; and the cases of many more doctors and staff at these two hospitals.
