Plot Synopsis

Each year, after the National Football League (NFL) regular season has been completed, the NFL's best players compete in an exhibition football game. This all-star game, which started in 1971 following the merger of the NFL and the American Football League (AFL), originally featured players from the American Football Conference (AFC) taking on players from the National Football Conference (NFC) in the AFC/NFC ALL-STAR GAME (and later called the AFC-NFC PRO BOWL). Starting with the 2014 game, the NFL no longer used teams based on conferences and renamed the game the NFL PRO BOWL. Since then, two new NFL Hall-of-Fame players are chosen as team captains each year, and they pick their squads from a pool of players selected by the NFL based on a combination of fan, coach and player votes, as well as player availability.
