Plot Synopsis

Dr. Dani Santino is a sexy, recently-divorced, Long Island psychotherapist who becomes the counselor for the New York Hawks, a professional football team, which makes her a sought-after therapist by high-profile clients and a hot commodity on the dating scene. Dani's comfortable suburban life is turned upside down by a messy divorce, and she initially takes the job with the Hawks to make ends meet and provide for her two teenage children, Ray J and Lindsay. Once she's on the job and word gets out that her tough-love and take-no-prisoners counseling skills are effective, she becomes the in-demand shrink for the stars -- flailing football players, anxious news anchors, troubled politicians, antsy poker players, and NASCAR drivers who are wrecks. At her day job with the Hawks, she works with: Nico, a professional problem-solver and enforcer who has a job with no description and never takes no for an answer; TK, a spoiled and confrontational Hawks wide receiver who is sent to Dr. Dani when his off-the-field antics overshadow his serious issues on the field; and Matt, a former college hoops player turned Hawks athletic trainer who was so impressed with Dr. Dani's skills that he persuaded the Hawks head coach to bring her in to work with the players, but now he has to fight the fact that he's attracted to her and keep their relationship professional. Dr. Donna Dannenfelser, who worked with the New York Jets, is the inspiration for Dr. Dani. Season 2 picked up with the aftermath of football superstar TK's shooting by a crazed fan, while the Hawks faced a crisis in the preseason. TK's life continued to spiral, with an addiction to painkillers, a new agent, and a forced trip to rehab. Meanwhile, Dani and Matt tried keeping their relationship a secret before Dani revealed it to her children, but they decide to break up after Dani learns Matt wants his own children. USA aired the Season 2 Winter premiere on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 10pm ET, with TK returning to the Hawks from rehab and Dani getting back to work with her patients. In the two-part finale for Season 2, quarterback Rex Evans struggled telling teammates about being gay -- he started by telling Dani in the penultimate episode and was deciding how to tell the team in the finale. Plus, after seeing Rex's strength and hearing about his relationship, Dani made a decision about her's. USA Network presented the Season 3 premiere on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT. In the season opener, new management at the Hawks turned Dani's world upside down, while TK dealt with a new head coach. Later in the season, a secret could unleash a scandal that could destroy the Hawks' whole season. Plus, in the wake of Dr. Dani's success with TK and the New York Hawks, Connor McClane will do whatever it takes to get Dani into V3, a sports and entertainment management company that he expanded into a global empire.
