Plot Synopsis

Each year since 1939 -- skipping years when no individuals were elected (1940, 1941, 1943, 1950, 1958, 1960) and for a pandemic (2020) -- the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has hosted an Induction Ceremony to honor iconic players, managers, umpires, executives and pioneers most recently elected to join its halls. Members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA) vote each year for eligible players based upon the player's record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the team(s) on which the player played. Any candidate receiving votes on seventy-five percent (75%) of the ballots cast is elected to membership in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. MLB Network has exclusively televised the Induction Ceremony every year since its launch in 2009.

The Class of 2023 -- featuring Fred McGriff and Scott Rolen -- were enshrined on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown, and the 2023 INDUCTION CEREMONY was televised live on MLB Network at 1:30pm ET/10:30am PT. MLB Network host Greg Amsinger is joined by Harold Reynolds, 2019 BBWAA Career Excellence Award winner Jayson Stark, and Hall of Fame voters Jon Morosi and Tom Verducci for the coverage beginning live at Noon ET. To begin the festivities, the paths to Cooperstown for McGriff and Rolen will be documented in a new MLB Network open, voiced and written by Hall of Fame MLB Network broadcaster Bob Costas. With Brian Kenny serving as the master of ceremonies, the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be simulcast on MLB.com, MLB.TV and available via the MLB app.
