Plot Synopsis

In this updated version of MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000, new host Jonah Heston survives a blitz of cheesy B movies by riffing on them with his funny robot pals. After falling into a trap on the dark side of the moon, mad scientist Kinga Forrester subjects new captive, Jonah, and his three robot sidekicks -- Tom Servo, Crow, Gypsy and Cambot -- to these hokey B movies in the Season 1: a slime-spewing Danish monster flick; an '80s tale of boy, beast and park ranger that features stock footage, a sketchy Bigfoot costume and creepy fits of laughter; a 1964 sci-fi romp, featuring a botched experiment that hurls a group of scientists into a bleak future full of mutants, androids and catty humans; a schlocky ski-resort disaster flick starring Rock Hudson and Mia Farrow; a part-Western, part-monster movie that features a trip to a Mexican ranch with a nasty secret; a 1978 STAR WARS knockoff with David Hasselhoff and Christopher Plummer; and many more flicks. Netflix released the entire 14-episode first season, titled MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000: THE RETURN, on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. Season 2, now titled MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000: THE GAUNTLET, premiered on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released all six episodes. This season, Kinga Forrester and her loyal henchman, Max, unveil the latest innovation in movie riffing -- THE GAUNTLET! Can Jonah Heston and the bots survive sitting through a back-to-back marathon of six hilariously bad -- and riffworthy -- films?
