Plot Synopsis

With the help of their friends, family and clinical psychologists Dr. David Tolin and Dr. Ramani Durvasul, young people face crises that are brought on by their dangerous addiction to spending. Each 60-minute episode follows two different shopping addicts, including: Heather, whose addiction to designer handbags may leave her penniless -- even though she inherited a large sum of money from her grandmother; Roshanda, who borrows money from friends and family so she can pack her home full of products from the 99 cent store; and other shoppers who need help breaking bad habits. The clinical psychologists are: Dr. Ramani Durvasula, Professor of Psychology at California State University, Los Angeles, who completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at UCLA, followed by clinical training at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute; and Dr. David Tolin, a board-certified clinical psychologist and the President-Elect of the Clinical Psychology Division of the American Psychological Association, who is the founder and Director of the Anxiety Disorders Center at The Institute of Living and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine.
