Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by showrunner Neil Cross, director Rupert Wyatt, and star Justin Theroux, THE MOSQUITO COAST is based the 1981 book of the same name by Justin's uncle, Paul Theroux. A radical idealist and brilliant inventor, Allie Fox, uproots his family -- wife Margot, daughter Dina, and son Charlie -- and moves them to Mexico, where they are tracked by a mysterious U.S. government agent. On Friday, April 30, 2021 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Apple TV+ released the first three episodes of the seven-episode first season. A new episode dropped each Friday through June 4.

The 10-episode sophomore season of THE MOSQUITO COAST premiered on Friday, November 4, 2022 on Apple TV+. A new episode dropped each Friday through January 6, 2023. In Season 2, after barely escaping Mexico with their lives, the Foxes venture deep into the Guatemalan jungle to meet up with an old friend and her community of refugees. This new refuge creates trouble for the Foxes though when they become entangled in a conflict between a local drug lord and his family. At odds about whether to settle down or keep moving, Allie and Margot pursue different paths to secure their family's future. The outcome of which will either unite the family or tear it apart forever.
On Friday, January 6, 2023, Apple TV+ released "Eulogy," the Season 2 finale of THE MOSQUITO COAST. The Foxes reunite to determine the family's future when an unexpected crisis threatens to end their journey once and for all.
