Plot Synopsis

Based on the collection of stories from Nathan Ballingrud's "North American Lake Monsters," MONSTERLAND is a scripted horror anthology series that explores encounters with mermaids, fallen angels, and other strange beasts drive broken people to desperate acts. Each episode features a different cast and director, with Emily Kaczmarek and creator/EP Mary Laws writing two and four of the eight episodes, respectively. Hulu released the eight-episode first season of MONSTERLAND on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. In the series opener, "Port Fourchon, Louisiana," Kaitlyn Dever, Jonathan Tucker, Keilly McQuail, Megan Byrne, and Matthew James Ballinger star in a story about a down-and-out waitress who questions her choices. Other stars include: Kelly Marie Tran, Mike Colter, Trieu Tran, Bill Camp, Nicole Beharie, Adepero Oduye, Hamish Linklater, Charlie Tahan, Taylor Schilling, Roberta Colindrez, and more.
