Plot Synopsis

Using super-close-up high-definition filming techniques, state-of-the-art CGI and horror-movie sound effects, each episode of MONSTER BUG WARS shows five bug-eat-bug gladiatorial contests where two bugs enter but only one survives. This insect fight club features the following battles: giant rainforest mantis vs. spiny leaf insect; bull ant vs. redback spider; green ant colony vs. tree scorpion; Sydney funnel-web vs. garden wolf spider; desert centipede vs. desert trapdoor; and many more deadly duels. Plus, each bug bout is accompanied by insight and commentary from expert entomologists: Dr. Linda Rayor, Senior Research Associate and Senior Lecturer at Cornell University; Dr. Bryan Grieg Fry (a.k.a. Professor Poison), who earned his PhD from The University of Queensland and is the Venomics Laboratory Group Leader at University of Melbourne.
