Plot Synopsis

Host Jeff Dye stops random people on the street in New York City, offering them the chance to win up to $1,000 if they put an earpiece in their ear and do and say everything that he and his comedian friends tell them to do. Contestants have three rounds to make as much cash as they can, as hidden cameras capture every prank and the reaction of the unsuspecting people who are the targets of the game. In Round 1, each task is worth $50, requiring people to do simple things like order an inside-out pastrami sandwich or ask a guy for a bite of his sandwich. In the second round, Jeff raises the stakes, and contestants get $100 for everything they do, including flipping the bird at an unknown passerby or get a Charlie Chaplin moustache at the barber. In the Speed Round, competitors have 30 seconds to finish a crazy stunt, like going into and out of a restaurant door 12 times while yelling "I'm leaving; I'm coming back." Dye got help from these comedians in Season 1: Joe Mande, Kurt Braunohler, Ali Wong, Streeter Seidell, Jordan Carlos, Eric Andre, and many more. Season 2 comedian pranksters included Kevin Barnett, Amir Blumenfeld, Kurt Braunohler, Hannibal Buress, Streeter Seidell, Grace Helbig, Mamrie Hart, GUY CODE stars Jordan Carlos, Chris Distefano, Jon Gabrus and NIKKI & SARA LIVE hosts Nikki Glaser and Sara Schaefer. MONEY FROM STRANGERS returned for its second season on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11pm ET/PT on MTV.
