Plot Synopsis

Created and executive produced by Melissa London Hilfers, MONARCH is a musical drama series about America's leading family of country music -- the Roman family -- which is headed by the insanely talented, but tough-as-nails Queen of Country Music Dottie Cantrell Roman and her beloved husband, "Texas Truthteller" Albie Roman. Dottie and Albie have created a country music dynasty. But even though the Roman name is synonymous with authenticity, the very foundation of their success is a lie. And when their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, heir to the crown Nicolette "Nicky" Roman will stop at nothing to protect her family's legacy, while ensuring her own quest for stardom. Middle child Luke Roman is the CEO of the family's business, Monarch Entertainment. Luke is the apple of his mother's eye, but he has a troubled relationship with his father, whose approval he can never get, no matter how hard he tries. Youngest daughter Gigi Tucker-Roman is very close to her older brother and sister, but in a family of superstars, Gigi has always felt like a bit of an outcast, in spite of her incredible singing voice. Gigi is married to Kayla Roman-Tucker, a successful music manager who keeps turning down Luke's offers to join forces with the family company. Outside business, Kayla's relationships with the Romans reflect a complicated history, and a secret she is keeping could destroy her marriage to Gigi. Ace Grayson also is part of the family. He is a talented and sensitive 18-year-old who was adopted from an orphanage by Nicky and her husband, struggling British actor Clive Grayson. Ace is a phenomenal singer with real swagger on stage, and dreams of being a country star like his Grandpa Albie. And just when the Romans' world couldn't get more chaotic, enter Catt Phoenix, the stunning and unpredictable mother of 17-year-old Ana Phoenix, a talented, wide-eyed young singer who is trying to get signed to the Roman family's record label. Guest stars in the first season include: Grammy Award winner Shania Twain, multi-Grammy Award nominee Martina McBride, Grammy Award winners Little Big Town and Grammy Award winner Tanya Tucker.

MONARCH debuted with a special two-night event, beginning Sunday, September 11, 2022 immediately following the FOX NFL doubleheader (at approximately 8-9pm ET/5-6pm PT). The series then makes its time period premiere on Tuesday, September 20 at 9pm ET/PT.

"There Can Only Be One Queen" (Time Period Premiere on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT): The Romans rally together after tragedy strikes; Nicky and Gigi grow even more competitive when the press dub Gigi "The New Queen;" Sparks fly between Nicky and Wade; Kayla discovers some shocking news.

"Show Them Who You Are Baby" (Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT): As Nicky prepares to perform at the "Queens of Country" concert, she learns of Clive's (guest star Adam Croasdell) affair and is determined to turn the tables on him; Luke is told the devastating truth from Nicky; Catt (Martha Higareda) celebrates Ana's signing with Monarch with a party at the Brambles, where Ana and Ace connect.

"Not Our First Rodeo" (Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT): Nicky makes a bold decision as she races to find a new song to perform at the Roman Family Rodeo; Albie is signed by a new manager, Jamie Burke (guest star Damon Dayoub), angering Luke.

"Death and Christmas" (Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT): The Romans move forward with their traditional Family Christmas special; Clive blackmails Nicky; Nicky's publicist pushes her to go public with her romance with Wade; Ace and Ana go on a date; Gigi rebels; Albie is stunned to learn what Dottie did.

"The Night of..." (Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT): The Romans await the news of the Country Music Legacy Awards nominations; Nicky & Luke meet with district attorney "Uncle" Tripp DeWitt (guest star DW Moffat); Luke looks into Jamie's past; Albie learns of a new family connection.

"About Last Night" (Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT): The events leading up to the deadly night are revealed, as is the victim, leaving Albie to clean up a giant mess. Meanwhile, several weeks later, Nicky still tries to prove that she's good enough to headline a solo tour.

"The Crown" (Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT): Nicky confronts Catt and preps Tatum for her Deb Ball; Gigi makes a splash at a press event; Ace and Ana get closer; Albie lies to Tripp to protect Nicky and Luke is concerned Jamie is getting too close to the Roman family.

"Confessions" (Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT): Nicky, Gigi and Luke discuss what they should do about Catt; Jamie pushes Albie to finish his album; Nicky blackmails Kayla; Ana is shocked when Catt confesses a secret.

"Mergers and Propositions" (Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT): Media Mogul Skyler Samuels arrives in Austin with a proposal for Luke and the future of Monarch; Tripp gives Albie an ultimatum; Nicky is torn when Wade returns to town; Gigi grows suspicious of Kayla and Luke; Ace and Ana go viral with a performance.

"The Last Dance" (Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT): An arrest is made in the murder; Albie is desperate for the family to come together; Jamie opens up about his past to Nicky; Kayla goes into early labor; Gigi airs the Romans' dirty laundry to Skyler and Catt continues to oppose Ace and Ana's "friendship".
