Plot Synopsis

A sexy and sassy group of four girlfriends, each on her own path to self-discovery, continue their turbulent journey through life, as they're caught in storms of excitement, secrecy and betrayal while being bound by the complex relationships they've created. Savi is a successful career woman working toward the next phase in her life -- both professional and personal -- by bucking for partner at her law firm while she and her husband, Harry, try to start a family of their own. Savi's free-spirited and capricious baby sister, Josslyn, couldn't be more different -- living single, serial dating, partying, and regularly leaning on her big sister along the way. Their common best friend, April, a recent widow and mother of a ten-year-old daughter, is rebuilding her life after tragedy and learning to move forward, but she starts getting prank phone calls after receiving her husband's life-insurance check. And friend Karen, a successful therapist with her own practice, reconnects with the girls after her involvement in a complicated relationship with a terminally ill client to whom she had prescribed morphine. MISTRESSES returned for its second season on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT on ABC. Season 2 continued to focus on the scandalous lives of a sexy and sassy group of four girlfriends, each on her own path to self-discovery. The season opener, "Rebuild," picks up eight months after the Season 1 finale. Having cheated death, Savi now makes the most of her second chance. Karen struggles to rebound from loss, both personal and professional. April's life gets interesting when an old friend returns and pushes her to make some changes, and Joss tries her hand at her new job as a party planner for wealthy Angelenos. Plus, Soleil Moon Frye guest starred as herself in the Season 2 premiere. In the Season 2 finale, "Til Death Do Us Part," the four girlfriends prepare for Joss's big engagement party, as anticipation, tension and mixed emotions swirl around their lives. Karen anxiously awaits the results of her HIV test, April must rely on Daniel to keep her and Lucy safe from her ex-husband's violent enemies, and a dejected Harry must decide if he should help Scott with yet another surprise for Joss. Meanwhile, Savi wonders if she should admit her change of heart. MISTRESSES returned for its third season on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 9-11pm ET/PT on ABC, ss Jennifer Esposito joins the cast in the role of Calista Raines and Rob Mayes in the role of Marc. Having confessed their true feelings, Joss and Harry are making out on the beach when Karen calls with bad news and Joss races to be with Scott. Meanwhile, April invites her half-brother Scotty and his mother to town and they arrive with Uncle Marc in tow. Karen makes a return visit to her doctor, Alec, and the results of her blood test are about to change her life in a very dramatic way. Fashion designer Calista Raines arrives on the scene determined to get what she wants. Then, in the night's second episode (10pm), "I'll Be Watching You," the drama and intrigue continue as new friendships are forged, relationships are set on a complicated course and mysterious plans are set in motion. MISTRESSES returned for its fourth season on Monday, May 30, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on ABC. In the season opener, "The New Girls," it's a year from the night Joss encountered a dangerous Wilson and has to relive the painful memory while testifying in court in his murder trial. Despite moving in together, Marc hasn't found a steady job, and April worries Lucy is growing up too fast. Karen is adjusting to motherhood while her attractive male nanny, Robert, makes a seemingly unwarranted advance. Meanwhile, Harry and Joss take the next step in their relationship, but trouble may be ahead as Joss isn't quite healed from her past.
