Plot Synopsis

Created by Tucker Cawley, MERRY HAPPY WHATEVER is a half-hour comedy series that centers on Don Quinn, a strong-willed patriarch from Philadelphia doing his best to balance the stress of the holidays with the demands of his close-knit but eclectic family -- and his family doing their best to manage him. But when youngest daughter Emmy arrives home from L.A. with a new boyfriend, struggling musician Matt, Don's belief that "there's the Quinn way... and the wrong way" is put to the test. At the same time, Matt tries to win over his girlfriend's gruff dad and quirky, tight-knit siblings on a 10-day Christmas visit to the City of Brotherly Love. On the first day of his visit, Matt gets a crash course in Quinn family dynamics when Don brushes him off and Kayla has a relationship crisis. On the Sunday before Christmas, the Quinn men usually watch football and the Quinn women decorate the tree. But this may be the year traditions change. On Thanksgiving Day 2019 (Thursday, November 28), Netflix released the entire first season of MERRY HAPPY WHATEVER.
