Plot Synopsis

Narrated from the perspective of an investigative reporter for a newspaper, MARKED BY THE MOB is a 60-minute animated series that uses a noir style to chronicle stories about America's mafia from 1920 through the 1980s. Each one-hour episode focuses on a different theme, like: "Turf Wars," which highlights how such battles end with only one side standing, with the St. Valentine's Day Massacre scaring the mob into accepting Al Capone and the hits on Joe Masseria and Albert Anastasia paving the way for 'Lucky' Luciano and Meyer Lansky; "The Bosses," which documents how those in power must watch their backs, with Salvatore Maranzano snuffed out in his office, Joe Colombo shot and left in a coma, and Carmine Galante left dead while dining; "Honor," which explores how mobsters live and die by a code of honor, with Bugsy Siegel dying because he trusted the wrong woman and Crazy Joey Gallo getting whacked after disrespecting his bosses; and "Exotic Weapons," which investigates the mobsters' tools of destruction, with Al Capone taking out two disloyal lieutenants with a baseball bat, 'Mad' Sam DeStefano hanging William Jackson on a meat hook, and Danny Greene meeting his end by car bomb.
