Plot Synopsis

MAMA'S BOYS OF THE BRONX follows five, thirtysomething Italian-American men who still live with their mothers near Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, which was once the heart of New York City's Little Italy. These five paisans rely on their mothers for almost everything -- cleaning their rooms, ironing their underwear, and keeping their medicine cabinets stocked with their favorite hair gels -- even though they are attractive and employed. Their mothers would love to see their sons married off to "good Italian girls," but until that day comes, they're perfectly happy having their precious boys at home, keeping tabs on their sons' partying, dreaming and scheming. This show chronicles the lives of: Anthony, a 35-year-old who recently gave up his position of manager of a car dealership to pursue his dream of producing a cartoon about the crazy and funny guys with who he grew up, and his mother, Patti, who raised Anthony as a single mother and is a longtime employee of the MTA, spending her free time hanging out with her three sisters; Frankie, a 38-year-old who grew up as a bit of a street kid and followed the men in his family to become a construction worker, and his mother, Gina, who was born and raised in the Bari region of Italy and works part time at a local deli where she created a sandwich named in her honor; Chip, a 36-year-old who grew up poor but worked hard and opened his own business, a small gym where he is the personal trainer, and his mother, Camille, who cares or the neighborhood feral cats, serving them food and water around the clock; Giovanni (aka 'Johnny Margarita'), a 38-year-old who is an aspiring fashion designer and wannabe wise guy, earning his nickname from the Feds, and his Aunt Gina, who owns her own medical billing service and spends her free time singing in the church choir; and Peter, a 28-year-old pretty boy actor working as as a math teacher, who has been dating his girlfriend Grazia since high school, and his father, Gus, who can whip up a mean batch of meatballs while still being an old-school father, grooming Peter to be a strong, hard working family oriented man.
