Plot Synopsis

Three graphic designers on a shoestring budget recreate large-scale, crucial moments in history using only green screens, modest home-made contraptions, and local acting talent. In this four episode series, Colin Thornton, Neil Wilson and Steve Flynn revisit Hitler's last moments in the bunker, a Medieval plague pit, a Bonnie-and-Clyde style shootout and the building of Stonehenge. To bring these recreations to life, they digitally enhance the video footage while also using their imagination to invent low-budget substitutes for Hollywood effects, such as Matrix-like slow-motion shots and realistic moon dust. Nat Geo aired the U.S. premiere of the series on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 9pm, only a few weeks after its world premiere on Nat Geo UK.
