Plot Synopsis

LOVETOWN, USA follows two experienced relationship coaches, Paul Carrick Brunson and Kailen Rosenberg, for 30 days as they help six singles from Kingsland, Georgia in their quest to find a perfect partner. Through a series of dates, interviews, challenges and events, these singles meet potential suitors -- being filmed the whole time and interviewed about their experiences. From the local mayor to restaurateurs, bosses and even married couples, everyone in the town supports the challenge by participating in events like: Lovetown USA Wedding Vow Renewals; the Heart & Soul Lovetown Festival; the LoveShack, where residents shared funny relationship stories; Love Note Collection Jars, encouraging people to perform random acts of kindness; and Locks of Love, for which people donated 8-10 inches of hair for charity. After a nationwide search, Oprah Winfrey named Kingsland as Lovetown, USA in February 2012. During the search, interested singles were encouraged to complete a 20-page application, which included questions like: Compared to the rest of the community members, what makes you unique?; Why do you think that it is possible to find love in your town?; Is there anyone you currently have a crush on in your hometown?; Are you and your neighborhood friends a close-knit group?; and many more. Once selected, these six singles embarked on a social experiment of a lifetime: Dan Black, a 31-year-old bartender and ladies man; Alicia Bertine, a 27-year-old model, entrepreneur and pancreatic cancer survivor; Martina, who has a Master's degree; Franchesca, a 23-year-old legal secretary and single mother; Ron, a 31-year-old Coast Guard engineer and single dad; and a sixth person.
