Plot Synopsis

Each year since 2011, the annual LOUDWIRE MUSIC AWARDS has honored legends of hard rock and heavy metal, based on the results of online fan voting in categories like Hard Rock Album of the Year, Metal Album of the Year, Best Vocalist, Best Bassist, Best Guitarist, Best Drummer, and more. For the first six years, "Loudwire" (loudwire.com) announced award winners online, until 2017 when the online magazine held its first awards ceremony and concert. Hosted by Fozzy frontman and WWE superstar Chris Jericho, the 2017 LOUDWIRE MUSIC AWARDS premiered live from The Novo DTLA in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on AXS TV. This live event featured legendary honorees Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi (Courage Award), Judas Priest's Rob Halford (Lemmy Achievement Award), and Sammy Hagar (Humanitarian Award). In addition to these three honors, "Loudwire" readers had a chance to vote in all categories for hard rock and metal with the winners being revealed at the ceremony. Plus, this year's program featured exclusive performances from Avenged Sevenfold, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, Halestorm, Anthrax, Ice-T, and more. The performance lineup is headed up by Avenged Sevenfold, with In This Moment, Anthrax, Halestorm, Body Count, Nothing More, Starset, Power Trip and special performances by Megadeth's Dave Mustaine, Rob Halford and Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta filling out the bill. Plus, the ceremony was highlighted by special appearances by Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith, Aerosmith's Joey Kramer and Lita Ford, Hellyeah's Vinnie Paul, Black Label Society's Zakk Wylde, WWE superstar The Miz, Rex Brown, Steve Vai, Steel Panther, Megadeth's David Ellefson, Vimic's Joey Jordison, Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 and Hollywood Undead. In addition to a live telecast on AXS TV, the 2017 LOUDWIRE MUSIC AWARDS were also streamed live on the Facebook pages for "Loudwire" (https://www.facebook.com/LoudWire/) and WWE (https://www.facebook.com/wwe/).
