Plot Synopsis

From Executive Producer Jennifer Lopez, LOS JETS is a half-hour reality series that follows the soccer team at Jordan-Matthews High School in Siler City, North Carolina, a they defy odds, face adversity, experience defeat and taste victory -- both on and off the field. Coach Paul Cuadros traveled to this rural community of 7,800 people nearly 15 years ago to document the plight of immigrant poultry industry workers, and remained in the town, demanding the creation of a soccer team, which he has coached for the past 13 years. During his time as coach, the town's Latino population has grown from less than 2% to more than 55%, and this soccer team has provided an outlet for immigrant children to feel less like outsiders in their own community. This six-episode series chronicles the soccer team during the 2013 fall season, as they seek a return to the North Carolina State Championships, where the school last appeared in 2004. His team's 2004 championship run -- and how the team's winning ways affected the community -- became the subject for Cuadros' 2006 book, "A Home on the Field: How One Championship Soccer Team Inspires Hope for the Revival of Small Town America."
