Plot Synopsis

LOG CABIN LIVING is a half-hour reality series that follows families, as they ditch the hustle and bustle and search for the perfect log-cabin retreat. Each 30-minute episode features a different home buyer. HGTV aired a sneak-peek episode of this series on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11pm ET/PT, more than 10 months before the show's official series premiere on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, with the cable channel airing back-to-back new episodes. In the 2014 preview episode, with the help of real-estate agent David Fetveit, Lance and Melissa Fahrney, along with their four children, traded in the hot, humid beaches of Florida for a chance at log cabin living around the Flathead Lake area in Montana. Season 2 of LOG CABIN LIVING premiered on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, as HGTV premiered back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener (11pm), "A Cabin With a Colorado View," Nelson and Tracee Quinnell jump at the chance to leave Texas behind and relocate to Denver. After years of moving around the country, they've finally found a place they can set their roots down. Country people at heart, Colorado offers everything they are looking for to live that outdoor life they crave while still being close enough to their jobs in Denver. Wanting more than just a pretty view, they need a log cabin that will accommodate their large dogs and her large family. In the night's second new episode (11:30pm), "Mountain Home Escape to Blue Ridge," Keith and Laura Hildebrandt find refuge from the commotion of their busy lives by escaping with their kids to the mountains of Northern Georgia. In the past, they've rented log cabins near Blue Ridge, Georgia, but now the family is ready to purchase their own log home. They want to able to be close to hiking, mountain biking, and fishing, but they also want to be close to town. Season 5 of LOG CABIN LIVING premiered on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, as HGTV debuted back-to-back new episodes: "Blue Ridge Cabin Quest" (11pm): An Atlanta couple is tired of living near loud highways and hopes to find a log cabin in quaint Blue Ridge, Georgia. They're hoping to find a cabin with enough space to host friends and family, close access to outdoor recreation and a fantastic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains for under $350,000. "Hawaiian Cabin Hunt" (11:30pm): A couple has set down roots on the island of Oahu and are looking for a bigger home with the comforts of a country log cabin for their three growing kids. They hope to find a cabin with a yard for the family dog and the backdrop of mountain views and ocean sounds. With a budget of $850,000 on an expensive island where log cabins are a rarity, they have their work cut out for them. On Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, HGTV premiered Season 6 of LOG CABIN LIVING, debuting back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener (11pm), "Washington Log Home Hunt," an outdoorsy Seattle couple wants to escape their busy city life and move to a log cabin in a quiet, peaceful setting. They'd like a body of water on the property as well as a shop for their glassblowing studio, but it needs to be close enough to commute back to the city for work. Helping them in their cabin search is a childhood friend, who's tagging along to offer support and suggestions.

Season 8 of LOG CABIN LIVING premiered on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, as HGTV debuted back-to-back new episodes:

"Kentucky Country Cabin Search" (11pm): Texas newlyweds are relocating to northern Kentucky and looking to settle down and find a rustic log cabin in the country. While she is looking forward to finding a property with acreage to ride her horse, he wants a quiet environment to relax and unwind at the end of a workday.

"North Carolina Cabin Getaway" (11:30pm): Three sisters search for a large log cabin in the southwestern region of North Carolina where all of their relatives can gather and enjoy holidays together. They're excited to take advantage of all the activities the area has to offer, but with so many family members to consider, the sisters will have to compromise on their idea of the perfect mountain cabin.
