Plot Synopsis

Host Chi-Lan Lieu visits American expats living abroad, providing a first-hand look at how families adjust to living in a new country. Lieu travels to Japan, where families learn that places in Tokyo are a fraction of the size of their American houses while costing three times more in monthly rent. Plus, Lieu tours Dubai, where American families enjoy a tax-free life with the luxury of groceries delivered to their doorstep. After airing back-to-back episodes on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 9pm, HGTV showed the official series premiere more than five months later on September 6, 2012.
