Plot Synopsis

In this scripted comedy, LEGIT follows Jim Jefferies' misguided attempts to become legitimate in life, while being encouraged in his quest by his best friend, Steve, and Steve's brother, Billy. Jim is an edgy, foul-mouthed stand-up comedian from Australia, and this mid-30s funny man faces a difficult, uncomfortable uphill battle every day while trying to make it through life in Los Angeles. His neurotic best friend and roommate, Steve, is a cyberlaw library salesman who struggles to stay on his feet in the wake of a divorce. Steve's brother, Billy, suffers from advanced-staged Muscular Dystrophy and is confined to a wheelchair. When Jim's not traveling to places like Omaha to peform standup, this trio takes one day at a time together, as they make a debauchery-filled road trip to Las Vegas, break Billy out of his adult care facility to party, create a fake online dating profile to help Billy meet girls, and many other not-so-legit activities.

For Season 2, LEGIT moved from FX to FXX, with a 13-episode second season that premiered Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT. Season 2 goes a bit deeper with Jefferies pondering why he's never had a relationship longer than six months; whether he's a sex addict; and how to deal with an extended visit from his parents and his roommates' dad, Walter (John Ratzenberger). Plus, Jim shoulders the responsibility to cover for his roommate, Steve, who has descended into alcoholism after losing his daughter to his ex-wife.
