Plot Synopsis

Host Kurt Sutter, the creator and executive producer of SONS OF ANARCHY, investigates America's most famous outlaw organizations, using interviews to learn about life inside these dynasties as well as the pivotal moments in their own personal journey and their gang's history. Through these first-person accounts, Sutter reveals "why these men made the choices they made, and what it's like to be a member of an outlaw organization." Each 60-minute episode focuses on a different group, including: Crips, one of the most violent and feared gangs in America, which started as a group of young boys determined to protect their turf, but grew and became corrupt; Outlaw Bikers, which were spawned when two generations of veterans returned from war to find an America they no longer fit into -- and banded together around motorcycles; Irish Mob, which persisted for decades because of extreme loyalty, only to be betrayed when their leader turned out to be an FBI informant; Nuestra Familia, a Latin group forged in the California prison system, which perfected ultraviolence as their method of controlling others and even their own members; Italian Mafia, America's most notorious crime family, which grew to become the country's most powerful crime syndicate and was taken down by its own members; and Aryan Brotherhood, which grew out of the white supremacist movement in America.
