Plot Synopsis

Homicide Detective Jessica King is a charismatic but unconventional cop, who is the lead investigator of Toronto's Major Crimes Task Force, the unit that handles the most volatile and challenging cases on the streets: murder, rape, robbery, gang violence, serial and predatory crime. She has a unique eye for detail, turning cases around by seeing what everyone else misses: in crime scenes, in evidence, in the motivations and drives of the suspects. She's a fearless and imaginative lateral thinker with a rare quality -- King doesn't need to be liked -- but this quality gets her into a lot of trouble. Colleagues may resent her, but King's passion for her job, disarming honesty and wicked sense of humor override their doubts. King is joined by: Detective Sergeant Derek Spears, who lost his job to King as lead investigator, embracing his demotion; Danny Sless, her husband, who is an officer with the Guns and Gangs unit; Police Chief Peter Graci and other detectives like Eleni Demaris, MK Gordon, Jason Collier, Alex Taylor, Pen Martin and Ingrid Evans. On Monday, January 6, 2014 at Midnight ET/9pm PT, ReelzChannel aired the Season 2 premiere of KING, as Detective King continued to face the challenges of each case while juggling her pregnancy, her husband's gambling and the changing dynamics of the team. King and husband Danny started afresh: they sold the house, paid off Danny's gambling debts and were starting to get excited about the baby. At work, Jess rebuilt her team, with fresh faces like: Pen Martin, a hot shot from the Spin Unit; and Ingrid Evans, one of Organized Crime's most experienced players.
