Plot Synopsis

Created and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Joe Berlinger, KILLING RICHARD GLOSSIP is a four-part documentary that tells the haunting story of Richard Glossip, a former motel manager sentenced to die for orchestrating a murder that he swears he had nothing to do with. For almost 20 years, two men convicted of murder -- one on death row, and the other sentenced to life without parole -- maintain two very different accounts of what led to the slaying of Barry Van Treese. Richard Glossip has consistently maintained his innocence, insisting that he had no knowledge that anyone planned to kill Van Treese. Justin Sneed, who admitted to killing the victim, cut a deal for a life sentence instead of risking the death penalty by telling the police that Glossip hired him to do it. Now, Berlinger's cameras are there with exclusive access to capture each moment, following Glossip's case during what could be the final days of his life. The entire four-part series premieres from 9-11pm ET/PT on consecutive nights: Monday, April 17 and Tuesday, April 18, 2017:

"This Is Pointing to Me" (9pm on Monday, April 17): Glossip's lawyers hunt down evidence that could exonerate him, before time runs out.

"An Obvious Choice" (10pm on Monday, April 17): Episode 2 engages all of the viewpoints surrounding Richard Glossip's case. The confessed murderer claims Glossip forced him to kill. The detective who zeroed in on Glossip defends his investigation. But Glossip maintains his innocence.

"The Machinery of Death" (9pm on Tuesday, April 18): Episode 3 explores Glossips journey through the court system. Glossip's lawyer uncovers many ways the court system failed his client. News of destroyed evidence is a critical discovery, and sheds light on how Glossip ended up on death row.

"Death Watch" (10pm on Tuesday, April 18): Episode 4 delves into Oklahoma's history of botched executions. Glossip divulges his fear of suffering the same torturous fate as other inmates have, and forensic accountant Pam Kerr casts doubt on the charge that Glossip had embezzled money.
