Plot Synopsis

Using archival photos, old video, and first-person interviews with investigators, law enforcement, and friends and family of the victims, THE KILLER SPEAKS also presents new interview footage of the killers themselves, as they discuss their childhoods, backgrounds, and murders, including what they did, how they did it, and why. Each 60-minute episode chronicles one killer, including: 23-year-old Levi King, who executed two innocent neighbors in 2005 when he finally found a release for his life-long inner rage by breaking into a farmhouse where a family was asleep, looking to kill again; Maksim Gelman, who went on a brutal killing spree in New York City in 2011 that left four people dead and four wounded, which began when he killed his stepfather by stabbing him 55 times, and ended 28 hours later in a bloody confrontation with the NYPD; and many more criminals who tell their stories. On Thursday, March 8, 2012, A&E aired THE FIRST 48: THE KILLER SPEAKS, a one-hour special, at 10pm ET/PT.
