Plot Synopsis

The burgundy-robed Judge Karen Mills-Francis presides over these real, small-claims court cases. As with her previous series, she'll allow litigants to cross-examine witnesses. Miami native Mills-Francis graduated from Bowdoin College (Maine) and the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida. For 13 years, she practiced law in the Office of the Public Defender and in private practice, and in 1998 she was appointed as a Traffic Magistrate to hear noncriminal traffic cases. In 2000 and 2004, she was elected as a Miami-Dade County Court judge, leaving the bench in 2008 for her first series JUDGE KAREN.
