Plot Synopsis

Husband-wife musicians Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez raised their kids for years on a tour bus while playing with their band. Faced with a canceled tour due to COVID-19, the family must adjust to life at home while adapting their music careers. The first two 25-minute episodes of THE JOHNNYSWIM SHOW dropped on Thursday, July 15, 2021 on discovery+ and the Magnolia app, the day it launched. In the series opener, "Our New Normal," Abner and Amanda try to teach their son, Joaquin, to do chores while adjusting to life off the road for the very first time. Abner's mom prepares a Cuban feast for her Welcome to Los Angeles party, and Johnnyswim begins working on their new album. A new episode debuted each Friday, beginning July 23 through August 27.

Season 2 THE JOHNNYSWIM SHOW dropped on Friday, December 3, 2021, as Magnolia released the first two episodes of the new season. In the season opener, "'Til We Get Back Again," the first Johnnyswim tour in two years is around the corner, and Abner and Amanda are excited to get back on the road to perform again. But as the start date quickly approaches, problems arise and difficult decisions must be made. In the second episode, "Fly Fly Away," Abner and Amanda must find new creative outlets after breaking the news to their fans that the Johnnyswim fall tour is postponed. While still focusing on music, Abner decides to train for a pilot's license.

THE JOHNNYSWIM SHOW made its linear television debut on the Magnolia Network with back-to-back new episodes on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 7-8pm ET -- just a few days after the cable network launched.
