Plot Synopsis

Jamie travels across Europe and North Africa, meeting local families, cooks and farmers, tasting delicious indigenous dishes and getting inspired to cook up his own. Jamie visits six places -- Marrakech, Athens, Andalucia, Stockholm, Venice and the Midi Pyrenees in France -- and immerses himself in the unique cultures of each destination, explores markets, and learns traditional cooking practices from the locals. From truffle and boar hunting in the French Pyrenees to spear fishing off an island near Athens, Jamie attempts to uncover the freshest, most authentic dishes and fantastic new recipes and flavors. JAMIE'S FOOD ESCAPES had its U.S. premiere on Cooking Channel on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 8pm ET.
