Plot Synopsis

IVORY WARS is a three-part documentary series that follows former Navy SEALs Christopher Mark Heben and Travis Lively and helicopter pilot Maggie Mutahi Beseda, as they help fight against elephant poaching in Kenya. In this series, they come face-to-face with the grizzly result of poaching and immediately begin tracking and chasing their well-armed enemy, but the trio must train local rangers in tactics after losing a suspected poacher in the bush. Going undercover in a nearby village provides more information and the chase is on again when another potential poacher is spotted. While Travis helps rescue an injured elephant from a snare, the rangers use their training to finally apprehend a poacher. On Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 11:59pm ET/PT, Animal Planet premiered IVORY WARS, showing all three one-hour episodes back to back on the same night the cable network debuted the one-hour special SAVING AFRICA'S GIANTS WITH YAO MING, forming a programming block that highlights the issues of elephant poaching in Africa.
