Plot Synopsis

IT COULD BE WORSE is a comedy web series that follows a struggling theater actor, Jacob Gordon, as he tries to overcome his career rejections while dealing with a delusional boyfriend and parents going through a mid-life crisis. When Jacob auditions for a Broadway musical, his boyfriend, Phillip, feels threatened, but Jacob lands the romantic lead in "The Ice Queen" after connecting with stage and screen royalty Veronica Bailey, his future co-star. After putting on his own one-man show, Phillip begins to freelance behind his boyfriend's back with Jacob's eccentric agent, Sam. Meanwhile, Jacob reconnects with an old flame, Ben, and finally works up the courage to break it off with Phillip when things start to heat up with Ben. Plus, Jacob's parents separate, and his dad, Leo, ends up crashing on his couch. When Jacob moves into a new apartment and rehearsals begin for the musical, has his life finally turned a corner? Pivot aired the television premiere of IT COULD BE WORSE on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 11pm ET/8pm PT, showing back-to-back half-hour episodes.
