Plot Synopsis

INVISIBLE NATURE is a three-part documentary series that uses the latest imaging technologies, including electronic microscopy, to reveal the hidden secrets of plants, while chronicling the qualities of plants that have allowed them to thrive on Earth. The three 60-minute episodes are: "Colonizing Plants," which shows how biological particularities have allowed plants to conquer all natural environments -- from dry desert lands to polar oceans and from wetlands to concrete jungles; "Talking Plants," which explores characteristics of plants that may allow them to communicate, move, smell, listen, speak and taste; and "Power of Plants," which documents how plants harness sunlight to make food, having evolved to be masters of photosynthesis, water purifiers, and air cleaners. Nat Geo aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 9am ET/PT, showing the three episodes on consecutive days at the same time, with the finale on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 9am ET/PT.
