Plot Synopsis

Robert Anders, a German cop living on the island of Gotland, Sweden, solves crimes in the medieval town of Visby. Although the town is idyllically located, ehind the facades of its brightly colored houses lurk evildoers of all stripes, con men, kidnappers, and killers. In each two-hour installment, Inspector Anders, a laid-back family man, investigates one crime or a few connected crimes, such as: two women who were brutally murdered just before the summer season was about to begin, leading him to conclude a serial killer was involved; a 14-year-old girl who fell from a cliff adn a photographer murdered in his darkroom, with clues for both leading him to a riding stable; an archaeology student is found murdered, seemingly struck down by a Viking ritual called the Triune death, followed by more people dying as victims of ancient Viking rituals; the death of explosives master Morgan Larsson, whose body was found in a quarry following an explosion; art dealer Egon Wallin, who was found murdered in his gallery next to a stolen work of art; and the architect for Visby's new city hall, who was found dead shortly after the building's grand opening celebration. MHz Worldview aired the U.S. broadcast premiere of this series on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT, presenting the program in German with English subtitles.
