Plot Synopsis

Experts in comparative anatomy, evolution and behavior put some of the most popular and enigmatic large animals under the knife to uncover their evolutionary secrets. Veterinary scientist Mark Evans interprets their findings, biologist Simon Watt tests the animals' physiology in the field, evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins traces back the animals' place on the tree of life, and comparative anatomist Dr. Joy Reidenberg comes face-to-face with animals in their natural habitat and in lab. Nat Geo Wild aired the U.S. premiere of the series with three back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 8pm.
