Plot Synopsis

Each 30-minute episode presents a real-life catastrophic event that people have survived, mixing interviews of survivors and eyewitnesses with original footage, computer modeling and dramatic re-enactments to deconstruct the incident and reveal scientific principles of survival. Events include: skydiver Michael Holmes who fell three miles without a parachute after both his main and reserve parachutes failed; the 2004 crash of WNBC's helicopter in New York City; an SUV that rolls over Scott Tegtmeyer in Dayton, Ohio; a car that collides with a guardrail, goes airborne and crashes into the center pylon of an overpass in Ohio; skydiver Scott Lutzs who uses his rescue parachute after his main chute fails, but ends up crashing into a high-voltage power line; a car that drives directly toward a family who is taking a stroll with a four-month-old baby boy; and many more.
