Plot Synopsis

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant send reluctant traveler Karl Pilkington on a trip around the world to see the Seven Wonders (Season 1), to fulfill his bucket list (Season 2), and follow the footsteps of Marco Polo with Warwick Davis (Season 30. In each 60-minute episode, Karl visits a different country -- China, India, Jordan, Mexico, Egypt, Brazil and Peru -- and experiences the local culture, entertainment, history and food. When Karl finally returns home to Britain, Ricky and Stephen quiz him about his travels to see if he's actually learned anything from his experiences. Science Channel calls the series "a practical joke turned social experiment." Science Channel aired the U.S. premiere of the series on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 10pm, immediately after a 30-minute series preview, and aired the U.S. premiere of Season 3 on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 9pm ET.
