Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Craig Ferguson, THE HUSTLER breaks the game show mold by featuring one player who secretly already knows the answers. Don't be fooled. Just because they have a leg up doesn't mean they'll be taking home the prize. Each one-hour episode follows five contestants as they collaborate to answer a series of trivia questions worth $10,000 each, with the goal of building a collective prize pot that increases with each correct answer. The catch? One of the five contestants, the Hustler, already knows the answers but must keep their identity a secret in order to have a shot at winning the grand prize. Throughout each episode, two contestants are anonymously eliminated by the Hustler, leaving three remaining contestants -- the Hustler and two others, who must collectively decide who they think the Hustler is. If they are right, they share the prize pot that could be worth over $100,000. If the two contestants are wrong, the Hustler goes home with the full cash reward. THE HUSTLER premiered on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on ABC, and then moved to its regular timeslot -- Thursdays at 10pm -- three days later, beginning with a new episode on January 7.

Season 2 of THE HUSTLER premiered on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on ABC, with Craig Ferguson returning as host. In the season opener, "The Most Diabolical Game on Television," five new competitors join Craig, where the famed television series THE SOPRANOS and mega superstar Lady Gaga are clues to discovering The Hustler.

On Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 9-11pm ET/PT, ABC premiered the Season 2 finale of THE HUSTLER, debuting back-to-back new episodes:

"Connive and Strive" (9pm): Five new competitors join host Craig Ferguson in this mind-bending and enigmatic game show where Backstreet Boys, Tom Cruise and Richard Branson are all clues to discovering the identity of The Hustler.

"A Little of This, a Little of That" (10pm): Five new competitors join host Craig Ferguson in this mind-bending and enigmatic game show where coffee beans, sausage and the Goo Goo Dolls are clues to discovering The Hustler.
