Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by Nathan Fielder and John Wilson, HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON is a half-hour comedy docuseries that follows Wilson, as he covertly and obsessively films the lives of his fellow New Yorkers while attempting to give everyday advice on relatable topics. The awkward contradictions of modern life are eased by Wilson's candid, unpolished commentary, with 30-minute episodes offering up his distinct take on a range of deceivingly simple topics. Building upon Wilson's previously released "how to" short films, the episodes take wildly unexpected turns, but are grounded in John's refreshing honesty. His short films "Los Angeles Plays New York" and "The Road to Magnasanti" were official selections of the 2016 and 2017 New York Film Festival. Episodes of HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON include:

"How to Make Small Talk" (Friday, October 23): John Wilson reflects on the delicate balancing act of making - and safely redirecting - casual conversation, highlighting the rewards and risks of small talk. Written & Directed by John Wilson.

"How to Put Up Scaffolding" (Friday, October 30): John Wilson offers a unique history of New York's hideous yet sprawling network of overhead "protection," otherwise known as scaffolding - and contemplates what it might take to reduce its nearly 300-mile eyesore presently overtaking the city. Written by John Wilson, Michael Koman, Alice Gregory; Directed by John Wilson.

"How to Improve Your Memory" (Friday, November 6): John Wilson taps into his "Memory Palace" for an unforgettable exploration into our ability -- or inability -- to remember things. Written by John Wilson, Michael Koman, Alice Gregory; Directed by John Wilson.

"How to Cover Your Furniture" (Friday, November 13): While trying to live peacefully with his furniture destroying cat, John Wilson explores the challenges of keeping an object in pristine condition Written by John Wilson, Michael Koman, Alice Gregory; Directed by John Wilson.

"How to Cook the Perfect Risotto" (Friday, November 27): To thank his elderly landlord for all the times she has cooked and cleaned for him, John attempts to make her favorite dish. Written by John Wilson, Michael Koman, Alice Gregory; Directed by John Wilson.
