Plot Synopsis

Each week a host and a team of experts meet a couple who find themselves stuck in their quest of making over a room, tackling a once-in-a-lifetime event or repurposing that favorite antique. Whether the couples are married, best friends, sisters or mother/daughter, the host and experts guide them through a series of clever ideas, renewed recipes and surprisingly simple do-it-yourself projects as they build to the big reveal.

Soleil Moon Frye replaced Paige Davis for Season 3, which premiered on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 9am ET/PT, as OWN showed two episodes each week: a new show at 9pm immediately followed by an encore presentation of an earlier episode from Season 3.

HOME MADE SIMPLE returned for its fourth season on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 9am ET/PT on OWN. Experts regularly featured this season include: designers Kenneth Wingard, Kim Myles, Nicole Gibbons and Jinnie Choi; carpenters Amy Devers and David Leon and chefs Martita Jara, Jesse Brune and Ronnie Woo. Plus, Soleil welcomes celebrity guests like: THE CHEW's Carla Hall, who shows the children of a foster youth advocate and non-profit leader cooking techniques for creating the perfect chicken dish; singer-songwriter Josh Groban, who works with Soleil and her team to surprise a tireless volunteer with an updated living room perfect for hosting fundraising events so she can continue to raise money to promote arts education in schools; actor Blair Underwood and the team honor a hard-working single mom who recently earned her Masters degree and inspired her daughter to attend college with a new dual-purpose art room and guest room space to both fulfill her passion for painting and provide a welcoming bedroom for her daughter; '90s pop singer Shanice, who helps whip up her favorite family lasagna recipe for a dedicated adoption advocate and mom of ten; and many more stars who give back to those who deserve it.

Season 5 of HOME MADE SIMPLE premiered on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 9am ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. For the show's fifth season, new host Jeremiah Brent, along with his team of experts, deliver stylish and smart designs, clever crafts and why-didn't-I-think-of-that? ideas while continuing to celebrate truly inspiring homeowners.

Featuring a new host, Laila Ali, Season 7 of HOME MADE SIMPLE premiered on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 9-10am ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. In the season opener, "2 Parents, 6 Children, 1 Dog and a Brand-New Master Bedroom," Laila and the team makeover a master bedroom for a mother who's expecting her sixth child. She and her husband are busy juggling their family, successful acting careers and community work. Laila cooks a breakfast casserole.

Season 9 of HOME MADE SIMPLE premiered on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 9am ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. Host Laila Ali works alongside families as they transform their living, work and play spaces, revealing inspiring stories of the families behind the makeovers. Laila, who describes herself as a "home cook," also teaches the families delicious, easy recipes from her cookbook "Food For Life." In the season opener, "Valenciano: All in the Family," Yaya has dedicated her life to caring for others, including Pia and her sisters. Now Pia is grown and Yaya cares for her children. The team helps Pia surprise Yaya with a spa-inspired bedroom as a thank you for her many years of love.

On Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 9am ET/PT, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network premiered "Simple Home," the Season 9 finale of HOME MADE SIMPLE. Laila Ali and her husband, Curtis, have conquered the sports world, but they can't quite master their children's playroom. Laila invites the team to work its magic, but she can't be included in the design plan.
