Plot Synopsis

This one-hour documentary series reveals the stories behind Hollywood's most explosive celebrity headlines, using archival footage along with commentary, analysis and narrative provided by entertainment experts, friends and family, and law enforcement. From public meltdowns to private affairs, these are the tales that have come to dominate and define Hollywood: where any vice is a headline and every star has a role to play. Each 60-minute episode features the stories of a single topic (Celebrity Sex Tapes; Celebrity Arrests; Untimely Deaths) or an individual celebrity (Marilyn Monroe; Michael Jackson; Charlie Sheen; Mel Gibson; Whitney Houston; Whitney Houston). In its series opener, HOLLYWOOD SCANDALS investigated scandalous home videos that exposed Hollywood celebrities' most intimate moments, asking whether D-level stars are victims or willing participants when their sex tapes transform them into superstars. The following week, this series took a behind the scenes look at Marilyn Monroe, who was a desperate woman trying to escape the tragedy of her childhood, while thriving on scandals that eventually destroyed her.
