Plot Synopsis

HOLD THE SUNSET is a half-hour comedy series that centers around Edith, a widow who finally gives into the advances of her old flame, Phil, only to have her retirement plans derailed when her 50-year-old son, Roger, shows up at her door to announce that he's left his job, wife and his kids -- and is moving back home in search of true happiness. For Edith, life was pretty good. She's been a widow from some years now, but her children live locally and drop by regularly. She enjoys daily visits from Phil, who lives across the Road. But Phil dreams of marrying Edith, with the two of them picking up and moving abroad to sunshine. After months of turning him down, on the day Edith finally says "Yes!," Roger is there on the step with a large suitcase. Roger's left his wife, kids, and banking job to move home to re-discover his boyhood happiness. And in a blink, to Edith's dismay and Phil's fury, the couple's dreams are on hold. HOLD THE SUNSET will have its U.S. premiere on BritBox in September 2018.
