HISTORY 101 is a documentary series that uses infographics and archival footage to deliver bite-size history lessons on scientific breakthroughs, social movements and world-changing discoveries. Each 20-minute episode features its own theme, including fast food, the space race, the rise of China, plastics, oil and the Middle East, robots, feminism, nuclear power, AIDS and genetics. On Friday, May 22, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released all 10 episodes of HISTORY 101's first season.

The sophomore season of HISTORY 101 debuted on Thursday, August 25, 2022, as Netflix released all 10 episodes of the new season. The bite-size history lessons return, this time to investigate GPS, MP3s, credit cards, psychedelic drugs, bottled water, dating apps, weaponized lasers, home workouts, IVF, and high fructose corn syrup.
