Plot Synopsis

Each year since 1997, HGTV has given away a dream home to one lucky person. HGTV DREAM HOME is an annual, one-hour special that highlights that year's new house, taking viewers on a guided tour of the property just shortly after the giveaway period opens for entries. Until 2003, DREAM HOME aired in February -- even competing with coverage of the Super Bowl in 2002 -- but HGTV has presented this annual special on New Year's Day ever since.
