Plot Synopsis

HEIST is a six-episode documentary series that chronicles three of the biggest heists in modern American history, as explained by the people who pulled them off. Through archival footage, re-enactments and original interviews, viewers see how the subjects select their targets, the meticulous planning that goes into the job, the sweet glory of success...and the boneheaded errors that lead investigators straight to the truth. The perpetrators sit down for in-depth conversations, alongside family members, accomplices, and the law enforcement officers who eventually brought them to justice. Directors Derek Doneen, Martin Desmond Roe, and Nick Frew each take the helm of a single heist, told over two episodes. The three heists feature these criminals: a 21-year-old woman, who steals millions in Vegas casino cash; an aspiring father, who swipes a fortune from the Miami airport...and uses TV shows to learn how to get away with it; and a Kentucky dad, who is accused of one of the biggest bourbon burglaries in history. The entire first season of HEIST dropped on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 on Netflix:

"Sex Magick Money Murder" (Parts 1 & 2): Heather Tallchief gives in to hypnosis and aids career criminal Roberto Solis in a plot to steal $3.1 million from an armored truck in Las Vegas. FBI agent Joe Dushek heads a full-scale operation to track down the fugitives. Heather faces a personal dilemma as her forged passport expires.

"The Money Plane" (Parts 1 & 2): Unable to cover the cost of adoption, Karls Monzon assembles a crew and plans a heist at the Miami International Airport -- by studying TV shows. After Karls and his crew take off with $7.4 million, the FBI get an unexpected lead, and Jeffrey Boatwright becomes a kidnapping target.

"The Bourbon King" (Parts 1 & 2): In 1999, family man Toby Curtsinger enlists his pals in a scheme to steal the world's most expensive bourbon and triggers a media-savvy investigation. The sheriff's office receives a tip and finds key evidence. A surprise twist reveals the mystery behind the missing Pappy Van Winkle bottles.
