Plot Synopsis

HAPPY JAIL is a five-part docuseries that goes behind the scenes at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center -- the Philippine jail known for a viral Michael Jackson dance video -- where controversy erupts when former inmate Marco Toral is placed in charge. Toral takes the law into his own hands when his TV is stolen. An infamous drug gang leader arrives at the jail, leading to fears for his safety. As the jail's population swells and critics charge that drugs are traded inside its walls, Toral cracks down. Inmates prepare for family visitation. On Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released all five episodes of this series.
