Plot Synopsis

Hank Haney is Tiger Woods' former swing coach, and works with talented young athletes at the International Junior Golf Academy. While Tiger was recuperating from surgery, Hank had some spare time and took on his biggest challenge: Charles Barkley. He was asked to fix the "worst swing in the world," and Season 1 of THE HANEY PROJECT followed Hank as he tried to help Charles, an NBA Hall-of-Famer with an ugly, awkward, and just plain horrible golf swing. Within weeks Charles was able to hit a 550-yard par 5 in two shots. In Season 2, Hank helped Ray Romano improve his game, and Rush Limbaugh received expert help in Season 3. The format slightly changed in Season 4. Instead of helping a single, hapless celebrity, Hank mentored four celebs -- Sugar Ray Leonard (handicap: 16), Mario Batali (handicap: 16), Angie Everhart (handicap: 25) and Adam Levine (beginner with no handicap) -- who battled to win $100,000 for the charity of his or her choice. Season 5, which premiered on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 9pm ET, featured record-breaking Olympic-swimmer Michael Phelps, as he tried to improve his golf game in one-on-one instruction with Haney.
