Plot Synopsis

Created by Dan Povenmire and inspired by his relationship with his younger sister, HAMSTER & GRETEL is a half-hour animated series that centers on Gretel and her pet hamster (named Hamster), who are new superheroes. The story opens with Gretel and her older brother Kevin about to be bestowed superpowers by space aliens. But something goes awry, and it's Gretel and Hamster who suddenly have new abilities. Now, protective older brother Kevin must figure out how to work with both Gretel and Hamster to protect their city from mysterious dangers. Season 1 guest stars are Jenny Lorenzo as Carolina's mother, Abuelita; legendary Latin pop star Karina La Voz as the tear-jerking La Cebolla; YouTube star Thomas Sanders as frat guy horse-man Neighslayer; TikTok star Casey Hamilton as Gretel's mild-mannered substitute teacher, Mr. Chabner; and Adam Rose as evil jingle writer The Earworm. HAMSTER & GRETEL premiered on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 9:40pm ET/PT on Disney Channel, with a simulcast on Disney XD. HAMSTER & GRETEL moves to its regular timeslot -- Saturdays at 9:30am on Disney Channel -- the following day, Saturday, August 13.
